The Green Giant, also known as Thuja Plicata, is a vigerous fast-growing evergreen growing as much as 3’ per year. They can grow to 40-60′ at maturity with a width of 12-20′. Green Giants are one of the more popular trees used for a privacy screen or hedge. Thuja Green Giants are a low maintenance tree that grows in a uniform, columnar shape, which keeps homeowners from having to prune or shear them. However, they can be easily pruned into a beautiful hedge. 

Its dense foliage is a rich green color perfect for a backdrop in any home or garden. They are wind resistant once established and can withstand heavy ice or snow. This tree does best in a moist, full sun location with partial shade. Shows better resistance to deer browsing than most Arborvitae. For a privacy screen, we recommend planting 5-6’ apart.
